Decorative concrete is the fastest-growing segment of the epoxy flooring market, and the reason is that it competes with materials rather than with paint. A full-broadcast vinyl flake floor, a coloured quartz system, or a pearlescent metallic install reads as a designed surface — and decorative epoxy is now a common specification in car dealerships, restaurants, hospitality spaces, and luxury residential basements precisely because it delivers that look with the durability of an industrial coating underneath.

There are three decorative systems and they solve different problems. Full-broadcast vinyl flake — flake broadcast to refusal into the base coat, then sealed — gives a consistent, hard-wearing, hide-everything surface with built-in slip texture; it is the workhorse for garages and commercial floors. Coloured quartz broadcast uses kiln-fired quartz aggregate instead of flake for a heavier, more impact-resistant, more dimensionally textured floor common in commercial kitchens and entries. Metallic is the design-led finish — pearlescent pigment hand-troweled into a clear base to create marbled, three-dimensional movement no two floors share. Custom logo inlays sit on top of any of the three.

What every decorative system shares is the chemical-resistant top coat. The decorative layer — flake, quartz, or metallic pigment — is fully encapsulated under the same UV-stable polyaspartic seal coat used on FraserPlus commercial floors, so red wine, grease, pet accidents, and household chemicals wipe clean without staining the design beneath. Every decorative install is hand-finished by a senior applicator: the trowel direction, pigment density, and flake blend are decisions made on site, which is why FraserPlus samples custom colours and blends for client approval before the install begins.

Common Questions

Decorative Concrete FAQ

Day 1: The slab is diamond-ground to expose raw concrete. Cracks and divots are filled. Day 2: A prime coat seals the slab, a pigmented base coat is placed, and the decorative layer — flake or quartz broadcast, or metallic pigment — is applied. A self-leveling clear layer locks the design. Finally, a polyaspartic top coat provides UV stability and durability.
With a polyaspartic top coat, decorative epoxy is scratch-resistant and minor marks buff out. High-gloss finishes show footprints more than satin finishes — we discuss sheen level during the quote and can demonstrate samples. For garage applications with vehicle traffic, we add a broadcast flake mid-layer for extra abrasion resistance.
Yes. Our garage decorative systems include a chemical-resistant polyaspartic top coat rated for hot-tire pickup, oil, fuel, and road salt. The decorative design layer is fully encapsulated and protected. We install flake and metallic systems in residential and luxury vehicle garages regularly.
Yes — when finished with a polyaspartic top coat, metallic epoxy is as tough as standard epoxy while delivering a gallery-quality visual. It's a common finish in car dealerships, restaurants, and luxury basements.
Absolutely. We sample custom colours, flake blends, or metallic pigment combinations on request before the install so you approve the final look.
Our decorative systems include the same chemical-resistant top coat as our commercial floors. Red wine, grease, pet accidents, and common household spills wipe clean without staining.
